Getting Started with Counseling

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you accept Insurance?

Yes. I am currently in-network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Health Care (Oscar), Carelon, and Aetna. I’m also pending with Iowa Medicaid.

I don’t have insurance or have a high deductible plan with minimal coverage, can I still access services?

Yes, part of ethical practice is ensuring quality mental health services are accessible. I offer private pay rates and a sliding scale fee, for those with financial need.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. Secure telehealth services are available to clients located in Iowa and Missouri. I am also currently pending to provide telehealth services in Florida. In person sessions are available in my office in West Des Moines, IA.

What ages do you work with?

I work with children who are 6 and up, as well as teens, young adults, parents, and families. Having extensive experience working with children helps me support those who are parenting or managing their own childhood experiences/attachment, no matter the age.

How long are sessions?

Most sessions run between 45 and 55 minutes but can be flexible based on availability and need.

Do I have to be Christian to work with you?

No. I welcome clients from all faith backgrounds and those with no religious affiliation. Faith integration is always optional and based on each client’s preferences. Evidence-based modalities are utilized no matter the background.
